Khandelwal Community
Shankarlalji Khandelwal was a very active member in Khandelwal community as well. He played key role in establishment of Khandelwal Charitable Trust and laid the foundation of Biharilal Khandelwal Bhavan, at Akola. He was also the Vice President of All India Khandelwal Mahasabha, Jaipur.
Kakaji was the first person to generate population register of Khandelwal society in 1966 for Maharashtra and Mahakaushal region.
In 1985, he was the first to publish census of Khandelwal Community for Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Pondicherry, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Mahakaushal region.
